Presentation

I am Anthony Poirier. I am a project manager and created my agency in 2014. My activity extends over Le Mans, the whole Sarthe and occasionally outside these areas.

I carry out all types of projects. I mainly do extensions and renovations. But I also build new houses and buildings.

Passionate about Lego since I was a child, I have always enjoyed building, making projects and realising them.

My greatest satisfaction during a project is when people tell me: "It's better than what we imagined".

Your daily challenges?

My main challenge is to be able to follow and manage each element simultaneously. In other words, I have to be present with the client and at the construction site, but also in the office in order to produce.

So I am always looking for ways to optimise my time. Sometimes it's difficult to organise myself according to the projects. I want to make every step of my work as an architect more pleasant and less restrictive. Everything has to go well under the best conditions.

Why iMapper?

I discovered iMapper by chance, on social networks.

I was looking for a new tool to do my measurements because with the classic laser meter was too long and not precise enough.

There are not many options on the market. There are professional 3D scanners that are very expensive. So when I found the iMapper, it turned out to be a less expensive solution that would give me that convenience, speed and accuracy.

What was it like to survey before iMapper?

I used a measuring tape, a laser meter and a pencil.

Since I started working, the measurement process is always the same. You take a laser meter and a tape measure. We take notes by hand. And sometimes you have to calculate diagonals when the building is a bit crooked.

I had a Leica, which does a trigonometric survey. For my part, I didn't have the satisfaction I have with the iMapper. It was long (the point survey to do yourself and the setting up), not very precise...

What is it like now?

Using the iMapper is very easy, even the first time. I set it up and level it.

‍

Once it's in place, it's very impressive how quickly it can scan a room.

‍

And, the result on the platform is detailed and very qualitative... even for an old and twisted building. So, it is a considerable saving of time, both for the survey and for the plan drafting and clean-up. Indeed, the superposition of the point clouds allows me to obtain a precise and perfect result.

My situation now is like night and day.

To give an example:

On a mancelle (typical Le Mans house), I usually take three days between the survey and making the very detailed plans. With the iMapper, I easily save a good day.

What would you say to companies to convince them to use iMapper?

‍

Something very simple, it's to use it is to adopt it.
