My starting point was a simple observation: people love to work despite the risks of exceeding deadlines and prices. Over the years, having worked in a large construction company, I became aware of the differences in management, depending on the size of the construction site. These differences in management can be a source of errors and inaccuracies when they are not justified. My daily challenge was therefore to find the most suitable solution for each construction site, without having to permanently juggle between the meter and the rangefinder.
I turned to iMapper primarily because I was attracted to its cutting-edge technology.
Like many architects, I used to do my measurements by hand with a notebook, a pen, a laser rangefinder for large distances and a metre for small ones. But surveys are time-consuming and many mistakes are made when you have to remember all the notations placed on the plans once you leave the meeting with the client.
It is completely different. I now have total confidence in my measurements, which I lacked before. I let the iMapper run in a room and I can focus on the things I think are most important, including the conversations with my clients. Once the survey is complete, I download the data and model the flat almost instantly.
